Halves and Midpoints

Print these pages and have your loved one mark them with a pencil. Sit alongside and check the answers together with a ruler.

Exercise 1

Circle all the lines that are divided exactly in half.

  • Visuospatial perception
  • Attention
Several red lines, each with one blue tick mark across it
Show answer

Three lines have the tick mark in the middle: the two lines at the top right and the upper of the two lines at the bottom right. On the other lines, the tick mark is off to one side.

Exercise 2

Put a dot at the middle of each line.

  • Visuospatial perception
  • Attention
Several red lines of different lengths and directions

After marking, measure with a ruler to check that both sides are the same length.

Exercise 3

Circle all the lines that are divided equally.

  • Visuospatial perception
  • Attention
Several red lines, each with two or three blue tick marks across it

Use a ruler to check whether the sections between the tick marks are all the same length.

Show answer

There are 4 in total.

  • The upper of the two diagonal lines at the top left: 2 tick marks divide it into 3 equal parts.
  • The shorter, lower of the two horizontal lines at the top right: 3 tick marks divide it into 4 equal parts.
  • The lower of the two long horizontal lines in the middle: 3 tick marks divide it into 4 equal parts.
  • The lower of the two diagonal lines at the bottom left: 3 tick marks divide it into 4 equal parts.
Exercise 4

Circle all the figures that have a dot at their center.

  • Visuospatial perception
  • Attention
Three triangles, three squares, two diamonds and one pentagon, each with a black dot inside
Show answer

There are 4 in total. The dots in the left triangle, the middle square, the left diamond and the pentagon are at the center of the figure.

Exercise 5

Put a dot at the center of each figure.

  • Visuospatial perception
  • Attention
Three triangles, three squares, two diamonds and one pentagon with no dots
