Finding the Way

Have your loved one trace the route with a finger and explain it out loud. Once this feels easy, you can practice with the way to a hospital or market you often visit.

The maps on this page are of Seoul, South Korea, and their labels are in Korean. The questions below give the place names in English so you can follow along.

Exercise 1

Look at the guide map for Ul-Gi-Ro Annex of the Seoul City Hall and fill in the blanks.

Get out through exit 8 of the City Hall station, go straight, turn right at □ Hotel, turn □ at President Hotel, and walk a bit more.

When you take the subway to get to Eul-Ji-Ro-3-Ga station from Jam-Sil station, how many stops do you need to go before getting off?

From Jam-Sil, going toward Seongsu, you go 13 stops and get off at the 13th: Seongnae → Gangbyeon → Guui → Konkuk Univ. → Seongsu → Ttukseom → Hanyang Univ. → Wangsimni → Sangwangsimni → Sindang → Dongdaemun Stadium → Euljiro 4-ga → Eul-Ji-Ro-3-Ga. Going the other way (toward Gangnam), you would pass many more stops.

How do you get to Non-Hyun station from Sun-Rung station by subway?

At Sun-Rung, take Line 2 and transfer to Line 3 at Gyodae Station. Ride Line 3 and transfer to Line 7 at Express Bus Terminal Station, then pass Banpo and get off at Non-Hyun Station.
