Overview
Strokes are classified into two types, depending on whether a blood vessel is blocked or has ruptured.
Brain infarction
80%Accounting for 80% of stroke
Resulting from a blockage in blood vessels supplying blood to the brain.
Brain hemorrhage
15%Accounting for 15% of stroke
Resulting from a rupture in a weakened blood vessel or an aneurysm in the brain.
