Motivation

Motivation means having the will to achieve something.

Motivation requires:

Brain injury and impaired motivation

A brain injury can impair motivation. People with brain injuries often act impulsively because of impaired motivation, and do not realize that this is a problem.

Impaired motivation leads to cognitive impairment, and cognitive impairment in turn further weakens motivation, creating a vicious cycle.
