Why Assessment Matters

Cognitive impairments should be evaluated accurately for successful rehabilitation.

An accurate assessment of cognitive impairments provides useful information on two things.

  • Which cognitive domains need to be focused on during rehabilitation — By finding out which cognitive functions have declined and by how much, you can decide which domains to train.
  • How well the treatment is working — By comparing results before and after rehabilitation, you can monitor the treatment efficacy of cognitive rehabilitation.
